Illustration Friday: Impatience

Do you think the elderly are as impatient as the young? Do they wait with baited breath for the sound of a doorbell or the ringing of a telephone? Do they wait eagerly for the ghosts of loved ones or the harbinger of death? I had so many ideas for this topic but I ended up here.

Kirky, are you familiar with John Prine's Hello In There? Such a profoundly lovely and tragic song that I was reminded of when I saw your drawing.

A good chair. Nicely done. I like the dominant grasp of the right hand and the almost nonexistent left. If one was to gather unintended things, but things suggested by the subject, yes, there's a claw at the immediate (the right hand) by a desperate person who's diminishing rapidly (the left), tht, perhaps causing said desparation. For what? Hope I hang in there long enought to let you know.

Wendy- You are a marvel with your music knowledge. That song is beautiful and accurate with what I was going for with my illo.

Thanks for the comment. I really struggle with watercolors. I use them out of convenience rather than choice. I like the chair as well. I also enjoyed your analysis of the illo. Thank you for adding your comment.
