I have to say that I just don't get watercolors. Me thinks an intro to watercolors course is in my immediate future.

What a fun poem--and illustration. His expression is fabulous, and it FEELS like he's getting squeezed.
As far as watercolors go, this is not an unpleasing painting, but yes, there is a lot to be learned about it.

Well, I'm rather unedumacated in the ways of painting and illustrating, but I wouldn't know this was to be considered weak unless ya said so.

Considering your feelings on snakes..I love the drawing and your effort to apply your feelings in watercolors, which I know you also dislike.
Fear can block efforts to improve abilities, that one considers a short-coming in one's life, but this drawing shows your fears groundless.
Look at the texture of the ground, you nailed it. The power of the coiled snake, the fear, the pressure all come together..great job.
